This Week in the Triad: Sep 7–13, 2026

The week of Sep 7 through Sep 13 brings live music, college sports, and a busy Saturday across the Triad — from a jazz program in Winston-Salem to a flight festival, a trade show, and a comedy night sharing the same day.

Winston-Salem: jazz, live music, and a full Saturday

Music Carolina SummerFest opens the week Tuesday, Sep 8 with Art ("OMA") Jazz at the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness. Matt Kendrick leads a program of original jazz, with artwork by participants with dementia at Williams Adult Care Center projected during the performance.

Two live-music nights land Friday, Sep 11. SoundKraft Duo plays Pine Tree Tavern, and the Sutton Band plays Joymongers.

Thursday, Sep 10, Patrick Rock plays live at 3815 Tinsley Dr in High Point.

Saturday, Sep 12 is the busiest day of the week in Winston-Salem. Skybound Flight Festival 2026 takes place at the Forsyth Tech Mazie S. Woodruff Aviation Technology Lab. The Preservation Trade Show runs at 500 South Church Street. And Hanesbrands Theatre hosts Tonight's Special Comedy Special.

Wake Forest home athletics round out the weekend. Field hockey hosts VCU at Kentner Stadium Friday, Sep 11.

High Point: a craft workshop and a free jazz concert

The High Point Historical Park hosts Let's Craft! Battledores in Little Red Schoolhouse Saturday, Sep 12. The sensory-friendly session offers dim lights, a calm room, and limited people while visitors make their own battledores — early-American printed teaching aids.

The High Point Arts Council keeps its SummerSounds series going Thursday, Sep 17 at Centennial Station Arts Center with the Titus Gant Jazz Quartet. The free outdoor concert runs from 6 PM to 8 PM.
