Crafting Resistance: Chilean Arpilleras Throughout History

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us by making your own simple Arpilleras, or patchwork pictures. Learn about the Chilean women who popularized this heritage craft and used it as a grassroots movement to fight against a dictatorship, and who are still using it today, both to talk about current issues like climate change, and to show idealized rural life. This program is for teens and adults. Materials are limited, so registration is required. To register, call the Glenn McNairy Branch at 336-373-2015 or email Madeline Anglin .
