The Sept 11-12 weekend is dense with community programming across High Point and the surrounding Piedmont Triad. Six events cluster in the window.

The anchor event is the 52nd Annual Day in the Park Arts Festival on Saturday, Sept 12, at High Point City Lake Park in Jamestown. The High Point Arts Council presents the family-friendly festival, and this year's edition celebrates local jazz legend John Coltrane's 100th birthday.

Also on Saturday, Sept 12:

  • Book Fest at Oakview Recreation Center (503 James Road, High Point) gives local authors a space to showcase their work and connect with the community, including fellow writers.
  • Education in the Historical Park (1859 E Lexington Ave, High Point) explores how building, crafting, and caring for things is a form of education.
  • Southern Junk Fall Vendor Market (110 Wade St, Jamestown) brings over 60 vendors, food, and live music with free parking and admission.
  • When He Came, an inspirational stage play at High Point Theatre, follows a journey from despair to hope told through actors, singers, and dancers. This performance is listed as rescheduled.

The weekend starts Friday, Sept 11, with Vintage Market Days Present "Where the Heart Is" at Suites at Market Square (200 W Commerce Ave, High Point). The upscale vintage-inspired market features original art, antiques, boutique clothing, handmade treasures, home decor, gourmet treats, and live music.
