Jamestown's September: vendor markets, a village fair, and a pig pickin'

Mon, Sep 7, 2026

Jamestown packs September with community events: two vendor markets on the same Saturday, a 22nd annual village fair, an arts festival honoring John Coltrane's 100th birthday, and the return of the town's beloved pig pickin'.

Markets and a charity golf tournament

The Jamestown Park Ladies Golf Association hosts its first annual member-guest charity golf tournament Friday, Sep 11 at Jamestown Golf Course. Proceeds benefit First Responders of the Triad.

Saturday, Sep 12 brings two vendor markets. Southern Junk at 110 Wade Street hosts Jamestown's biggest annual vendor market — more than 60 vendors with live music and food. The Second Chance Closet runs a separate vendor market the same day.

Village Fair and Day in the Park

The 22nd annual Village Fair returns to the Mendenhall Homeplace Saturday, Sep 19 from 10 AM to 3 PM. The family-friendly event features live music, living history demonstrations, artisan exhibits, and local vendors.

Sunday, Sep 20, the 52nd annual Day in the Park Arts Festival commemorates local jazz legend John Coltrane's 100th birthday. The festival offers two stages of live performances, food trucks, children's activities, folklife exhibitions, and more than 30 artists.

The Pig Pickin' closes the month

Friday, Sep 25, Furnitureland South transforms into an 80s Disco for the Jamestown Pig Pickin', the benefit for Family Services of the Piedmont with auction, feasting, and fanfare.

Listings come from the September 7 harvest of the Jamestown events calendar (thejamestowner9.com).
